Original Extra Crispy!
Everyone likes KFC chicken. The flavor of the original recipe is awesome. However, I occasionally get the extra crispy because I love the texture. Why can’t they do a hybrid and combine the two?

California Surgeon Used Human Fat to Power Car

A former Beverly Hills, Calif. liposuction doctor claimed to have the environment’s best interests at heart when he began fueling his and his girlfriend’s SUVs with human fat sucked out of his patients.
Unfortunately the practice was illegal, according to California state health officials.
An investigation by the California public health department revealed that Craig Alan Bittner created “lipodiesel” from his patients’ fat and used it to power his Ford SUV and his girlfriend’s Lincoln Navigator, Forbes.com reported this week.
“The vast majority of my patients request that I use their fat for fuel — and I have more fat than I can use,” Bittner wrote on his now defunct Web site. “Not only do they get to lose their love handles or chubby belly but they get to take part in saving the Earth.”
California law forbids the use of human medical waste to power vehicles.

Really? They have a law on the books for this? California lawmakers sure are thorough.
I like a few of Mr. Taylor’s songs–all of which were recorded 30 years ago. Right now he is peddling his latest album on television. It is his album and it’s infomercial that sparked this blog. It is an incredible example of self indulgence. The music is awful and the whole advertisement is a joke.
U2, my favorite band, had a time when they felt like messing around in the studio. After the creating a pile of songs, they wanted to release it to the public. They thought somebody might want to hear what they created.
They were concerned about it. It wasn’t classic U2. They wanted to release it but didn’t want it to scar their reputation so they did two things: they labeled it experimental and released it under a different name. That was wise. It bombed hard.
Larry, the pragmatic member of the band said, “There’s a thin line between interesting music and self-indulgence. We crossed it on the Passengers record.”
James Taylor also felt like messing around in the studio. The difference is that he invited in video cameras to record the event and had every intention of making it a commercial success. After he created the complete joke of a record he made an infomercial to sell it. The infomercial is on TV all the time.
I can’t believe the ego on this guy. It’s interesting that he was married to Carly Simon. Her song, “You’re so Vain” certainly fits.
I’ve been really impressed by Obama since the election. He hasn’t felt the need to rub salt in the wounds of his opponents.
I’m watching a press conference where he has several of his cabinet officials being announced. In two of their speeches they made references to the last eight years. Then his bonehead VP got up and did the same thing. All that does is tick off those who lost the election.
Now I fully expect to abhor Obama at some point. Eventually, he will become like Bill and Hillary. He is, after all, further left than either of them. But for now, I’m not aggravated. I’m not condemning him. I’m letting him do his job without criticism. I feel civil towards him. I wish him well. I wish him success. I would rather see him successful and get reelected than fail miserably and get in a Republican.
I never felt that way towards Bill. I knew he was crooked and evil from day one. History has certainly proved that to be the case.
I hope having the staff blaming everything on the last eight years is not Obama’s plan to stay clean. I’m sure they will be more offensive than Obama but I would like him to maintain a level of amenity. If he does, I will try to do the same.
Today it was announced that Jay Leno will begin hosting a prime time talk show. I can only hope that he will clean up his act (literally). Ever since his mother died he has been absolutely filthy. His jokes remind me of a junior high locker room. We don’t ever need that sort of programming much less during prime time.
Prime time television has been much worse the last few months. On the Travel channel I witnessed an ad for a vibrator. A few weeks later I saw an ad on AMC for male enhancement. That reminds me, I still need to write a letter for AMC.
This is a dangerous situation. Now you can’t have a business without providing specific offerings for gays. How far are we going to take this?

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Online dating service eHarmony has agreed to create a new website for gays and lesbians as part of a settlement with a gay man in New Jersey, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General said on Wednesday.
The website will provide a dating service with “male seeking a male” or “female seeking a female” options, the Attorney General’s office said in a statement.
eHarmony said it will launch the new same-sex dating site, named “Compatible Partners,” by March 31.
The settlement was the result of a discrimination complaint filed by Eric McKinley against eHarmony in 2005, which will be dismissed under the settlement agreement.
eHarmony was founded in 2000 by evangelical Christian Dr. Neil Clark Warren and had ties with the influential religious conservative group Focus on the Family.
The New Jersey complaint is not the only legal action to be brought against eHarmony for failing to provide a same-sex option.
In March, lawyers in California brought a lawsuit against the company on behalf of San Francisco resident Linda Carlson, who was denied access to eHarmony because she is gay.
“We believe that this case is now essentially moot, and we’re confident that we will prove that in court,” eHarmony vice president Antone Johnson said in a statement about the California case.

With the recent passage of Proposition 8 in California we are once again shown the double standard of the liberal movement. For decades liberal churches have been picking up their parishioners in buses and driving them to the voting precincts. All the way they tell them how to vote. When that happens, IN EVERY ELECTION, you don’t hear a word about pulling their tax exempt status. Does reverend Wright sound neutral? How about Jesse Jackson? The LDS Church has gone to great lengths to stay politically neutral. However, they have reserved the right to express opinions on moral issues. I believe there is a thousand years of precedence on religions expressing opinions on moral issues.
Proposition 8 lost by popular vote. The voice of the people should be the ultimate standard. Unfortunately, the voice of the people is exactly what liberals want to avoid. They prefer to get their way by legislating from the bench. Their way meaning: legalizing abortion, legalizing gay marriage, banning school prayer and banning religious symbols.
Liberals want the voice of the people as long as they, and only they, can act as influencers. If the voice of the people doesn’t go their way, they go to the courts, targeting district courts that favor their side.
Now that the election is over they are marching on the LDS church temples. Can someone explain to me why? It’s over, there isn’t another vote next week. Why are they marching now? It’s clear that they are trying to intimidate the Church and its members. Intimidation….now that’s American.
They are tenacious. You got to love them for that.
A California school system refuses to say what action, if any, it will take after it received complaints about a kindergarten teacher who encouraged her students to sign “pledge cards” in support of gays.
During a celebration of National Ally Week, Tara Miller, a teacher at the Faith Ringgold School of Arts and Science in Hayward, Calif., passed out cards produced by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network to her class of kindergartners.
The cards asked signers to be “an ally” and to pledge to “not use anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) language or slurs; intervene, when I feel I can, in situations where others are using anti-LGBT language or harassing other students and actively support safer schools efforts.”
The school has acknowledged that the exercise was not appropriate for kindergartners.
Parent Adela Voelker, who declined to be interviewed in depth for this report, said she was furious when she found her child’s signature on one of the cards. She said she contacted a non-profit legal defense organization specializing in parents’ rights.
Meanwhile, a school board member, Jeff Cook, says some type of action should be taken.
“We have a general rule that all instruction should be age appropriate, and this clearly was not,” said Cook, who has served on the school board for five years.
Val Joyner, a school district spokeswoman, told FOXNews.com in an e-mail that when deciding what to teach on this subject matter, educators “gather materials from community agencies and other education groups” and that “the materials have grade level indicators which help determine what is age-appropriate.”
The district said the pledge cards were intended for middle school and high school students.
Asked last week if the district planned to take action against Miller, Joyner said she would have to look into the incident. On Thursday she told FOXNews.com that she did not have an answer for the question and that she would no longer be doing any media interviews.
Joyner said in an e-mail that Miller, the teacher, “planned to teach students how to become an ally and conflict-mediation through various activities.” She added that the district doesn’t advocate for a specific cause and/or lifestyle, and it has “no curriculum for gay, lesbian and transgender lifestyles.”
It’s a well known fact that college educators are predominantly liberal. For years I ignorantly assumed that this didn’t apply to K-12 educators. I thought they were “normal” meaning they were just as likely to be liberal or conservative as other citizens. I no longer hold that opinion. Educators tend to be liberal.
I think my previous assumption came from the fact that K-12 educators are not as personally vocal on liberal causes. University professors use television and publishing to champion their beliefs. Even those working for state schools are given tenure which allows them to champion personal beliefs while at work. Since K-12 educators are working with children I think there is an unspoken pressure stay silent to avoid the appearance of indoctrinating children.
For the last eight years I have had children in elementary and junior high schools. In dealing with teachers, teachers unions, principals, school districts and organizations such as the PTA; I have realized that they are fierce liberal organizations. They believe in the tenants of liberalism. They agree with the platform of the Democratic National Committee. They are outspoken on issues that have nothing to do with education.
The California Teachers Association is the #1 contributor in the fight against California’s Proposition 8 marriage amendment. They have donated over $1.3 million dollars to that cause. Don’t be fooled. They are not doing it to defend the interests of a few gay and lesbian teachers. They are doing it because as an organization they are liberal to the core. There are definitely thousands of teachers around the country who are conservative or even non-political but the organizations that represent them are liberal.
We must stop thinking of teaching as a high and noble calling. It is a job. Teachers teach because they want a paycheck and they believe teaching will be an enjoyable way of earning the money. That’s not a put down. That is why mechanics fix cars. They want a paycheck and they believe working on cars will be an enjoyable way of earning the money.
Every teacher should be treated individually and with the respect owed to any human being but teachers unions, school boards, school districts and the PTA are liberal bastions. They fight for liberal ideas and values. They are not centrists. They should be treated like the NAACP, NOW, ACLU, MoveOn, Sierra Club etc. Those organizations are recognized for being liberal and when they speak you know what is going to come out of their mouth.
Liberal organizations have a right to exist and be respected but they should be known for what they are. Educational organizations have not been categorized with other liberal organizations because they want to work both sides of the fence. They want to be free to push a liberal agenda but be considered mainstream and centrist. They want to hide behind the facade of being, “for the children”. They are not “for the children”. They are for liberalism.
These organizations are always run by former educators and they are supported by educators. Educators are wholly responsible for their liberal message.
The other day I was driving in the mountains and had the thought to put in the Housemartins. It’s been a while since I had played their tunes so my perspective was fresh. Their sound has obvious similarities to the Smiths. The Housemartins are really the Smiths if Morrissey took a Prozac. The Smiths have superior talent but if you are in a mood for upbeat lyrics give the Housemartins a try.
